The IOPC Funds were invited to take part in a symposium on the theme of International Public Law Applied to Transport, organised by the University of Valenciennes in France. The one-day event saw a number of specialists of international law and transport law discuss the methods and techniques of public international law as applied to the field of transport. The Head of External Relations and Conference, Thomas Liebert, took part in this event to talk about the principle of civil liability as applied to maritime transport, using the experience of the IOPC Funds as a practical example.

The symposium was attended by some 70 students, lecturers and practitioners and the proceedings will be published later in the year
