IOPC Funds’ Claims Manager, Mark Homan, returned to Trinidad and Tobago from October 7 to 10, where he held meetings with officials and stakeholders involved in the Gulfstream oil pollution incident.

During the visit, the Claims Manager met with officials from the 1992 Fund Member State’s Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries, as well as representatives from the Tobago Emergency Management Agency (TEMA). Their discussions focused on the submission of claims for losses across various sectors due to the incident, and in particular the methodology and process for submitting claims in the fisheries sector.

The Secretariat will report any further developments regarding the incident and submit a detailed report at the next session of the governing bodies in November 2024.
