9th Offshore Arabia 2018 Conference and Exhibition

The IOPC Funds’ Director, José Maura, was invited to participate in the 9th Offshore Arabia 2018 Conference and Exhibition, alongside the IMO’s Secretary General, Kitack Lim. The two-day event, which took place on 28 February and 1 March 2018, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, covered a broad range of topics, including oil spills and environmental protection, regional and international shipping and future projects and technologies. The Director gave a presentation on the recent developments in the international liability and compensation regime for oil pollution from tankers and had the opportunity to meet with H.E. Dr. Matar Al Neyadi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy to discuss further cooperation between the UAE and the IOPC Funds. He also met with H.E. Dr Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Infrastructure Development and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federal Transport Authority for Land and Maritime.
