Incident in Trinidad and Tobago

The IOPC Funds is sorry to learn of the oil pollution incident currently affecting Trinidad and Tobago.

Trinidad and Tobago is a 1992 Fund Member State, however, a number of significant details regarding the incident and the vessel remain unconfirmed at this stage, including the type of vessel and whether it was carrying persistent oil as cargo. It is therefore not possible to determine whether the 1992 Civil Liability and Fund Conventions would apply to this incident at this stage.

The IOPC Funds will continue to monitor developments, and remains ready to assist the Government, should it be called upon to do so.
