IOPC Funds looks forward to presenting and participating in Interspill 2025

The IOPC Funds is delighted to support Interspill 2025, the European oil spill conference and exhibition, which will take place at ExCeL London, the United Kingdom, from 8-10 April 2025.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the first Interspill and the 10th edition of this premier Conference and Exhibition that continues to foster collaboration between government and industry while promoting best practices in oil spill preparedness, prevention, and response.
As an official supporter and member of the organising committee, the IOPC Funds’ Secretariat is involved in the organisation of the event and is looking forward to having a strong presence across the conference, exhibition, training activities and other activities during the week.
The IOPC Funds’ Director and other senior members of the Secretariat will be participating in conference sessions, where they will deliver presentations and answer questions on various topics of current interest to the oil spill community, as set out below.
Wednesday 9 April, 9 am | Gillian Grant, HNS Project Manager | Oil pollution or HNS incidents – who pays? |
Wednesday 9 April, 2.30pm | Gaute Sivertsen, Director | The potential impact of sanctions and the ‘dark fleet’ |
Wednesday 9 April, 4.30pm | Mark Homan, Claims Manager | Gulfstream, Trinidad & Tobago – getting to the root of a complex incident |

Members of the Secretariat will also be available to deliver information and answer questions about the work of the organisation in the exhibition hall, where the IOPC Funds will share a stand with the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the International Group of P&I Associations (International Group).
Prior to the conference, on Monday 7 April, the IOPC Funds and the International Group will deliver a training course targeting professional responders and government officials. It will focus on the efficient recovery of costs and how compensation is paid in the event of a tanker spill under the international oil pollution liability and compensation regime. The two-hour course will provide guidance on how to submit claims for compensation for clean-up operations, as well as economic losses, environmental monitoring studies and reinstatement measures, and will include case studies and practical examples.
Register to attend the course and the full event here and visit us, IMO, and the International Group on stand A14.
The IOPC Funds is looking forward to this opportunity to reconnect with the response community and to extending awareness of the role of the organisation.
