IOPC Funds recognises International Women’s Day

On International Women’s Day, the IOPC Funds reaffirms its commitment to supporting gender equality and the empowerment of women.

The IOPC Funds has actively participated in the IMOGender programme, the mentorship scheme developed by the International Maritime Organization for female students of the International Maritime Law Institute (IMLI) and the World Maritime University (WMU), since 2022. Under this initiative,  our Deputy Director and Head of Claims, Liliana Monsalve, and Senior Claims Manager, Chiara DellaMea, have served as mentors for students in both institutions.

As we continue to work with Member States in support of our shared goal towards ensuring gender balance in the composition of the leadership of our governing and oversight bodies , we proudly recognise that 17 of our 26 staff members are female, with several in senior positions within the organisation, including the Deputy Director and Head of Claims Department.
