IOPC Funds welcomes students from Prague University of Economics and Business
On 10 February 2026, IOPC Funds’ Deputy Director and Head of Claims Department, Liliana Monsalve, welcomed to the organisation’s offices members of the Student Club of Business and Competitiveness, a student association based in the Faculty of International Relations at the Prague University of Economics and Business.
During the visit, the Deputy Director provided an overview of the role of the IOPC Funds and the legal framework underpinning the international liability and compensation regime for ship-source oil pollution. She outlined the types of claims covered under the 1992 Civil Liability Convention and the 1992 Fund Convention, as well as the general criteria applied by the IOPC Funds when assessing the admissibility of claims.
The students demonstrated a keen interest throughout the session and actively participated in the discussions that followed.
The IOPC Funds is committed to sharing knowledge and raising awareness of the international liability and compensation regime for ship-source oil pollution. Each year, the organisation supports educational institutions by delivering lectures and presentations to university students, helping to deepen their understanding of the relevant international Conventions.
