IOPC Funds Workshop

On 6 December 2016, the IOPC Funds ran a workshop on the international liability and compensation regime in Mumbai, India. Organised by the Directorate General of Shipping, Ministry of Shipping, and hosted by the India Register of Shipping, the workshop was jointly delivered with ITOPF and the International Group of P&I Associations, and enabled the IOPC Funds to discuss the compensation regime with a wide range of stakeholders.
The IOPC Funds was represented by its Director and the Head of External Relations and Conference, who took this opportunity to meet with officials from the Directorate General of Shipping and travelled to New Delhi for a meeting with Dr Alok Srivastava, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Shipping.
The participation of India in meetings of the IOPC Funds’ governing bodies and the recent developments regarding the MT Pavit case were discussed on these occasions.
