The Director, José Maura, was pleased to participate in the International Oil Spill Conference (IOSC), which was held remotely from 10–14 May 2021.

Originally due to take place in New Orleans, USA, as a result of the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the global pandemic, IOSC 2021 transitioned to a fully virtual event experience.

Mr Maura chaired a hot topic session during the conference and attended several sessions and virtual events during the course of the week.

IOSC is part of the series of international conferences, together with Interspill and Spillcon, which are held on a three-year cycle, providing a forum for professionals from the international community, the private sector, governments, and governmental and non-governmental organisations to highlight and discuss innovations and best practices across the spectrum of prevention, preparedness, response and restoration.

The IOPC Funds are proud to support each of these events and look forward to Interspill, the next event in the cycle, which will be held in Amsterdam in June 2022.
