Claims Manager, Chiara Della Mea, participated in a webinar to enhance regional cooperation in responding to marine oil and HNS pollution in the Mediterranean, held on 27-28 October 2020, via an e-conferencing platform with remote simultaneous interpretation.

The webinar was organised by the Regional Marine Pollution Emergency Response Centre for the Mediterranean Sea (REMPEC), in close co-operation with the Secrétariat Général de la Mer (SGMer, France), in the framework of the Western Mediterranean Region Marine Oil and HNS Pollution Cooperation (West MOPoCo) Project, co-financed by the European Union under the Union Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM).

The workshop was attended by over 70 representatives of the Mediterranean States, as well as governmental and non-governmental organisations. It provided the participants with an overview of the national progress by States in developing tools related to preparedness and response to oil and HNS spills as well as opportunities to enlarge the cooperation between parties to existing sub-regional contingency plans.
