Regional Training Course on Liability and Compensation for Oil Pollution Incidents Varna, Bulgaria

Ms Chiara Della Mea, Claims Manager, together with a representative of the International Group of P&I Associations, ran a claims and compensation workshop for the Black Sea Region from 28 to 30 May 2012 in Varna, Bulgaria. Fifteen representatives from Bulgaria, Georgia, Romania, Russian Federation, Turkey and Ukraine participated in the workshop/training course, which was organised by the Black Sea Commission. The course included presentations on various aspects of the international liability and compensation regime and the work of the IOPC Funds in general, focussing particularly on claims submission, assessment and handling procedures.
