Regional Workshop, Hurghada, Egypt

At the invitation of the Regional Organization for the Conservation of the Environment of the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden (PERSGA), the IOPC Funds conducted a Regional Workshop on the International Liability and Compensation Regime for Oil Pollution Damage from 16-18 June 2014. The workshop took place at the Center for Emergency Mutual Aid in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden in Hurghada and was attended by participants from six of PERSGA’s member countries (Egypt, Sudan, Djibouti, Yemen, Saudi Arabia and Jordan). The workshop formed part of the IMO Integrated Technical Co-operation Programme and ITOPF also participated in its delivery. It was also an opportunity for discussions with the PERSGA Secretariat on matters of common interest for future cooperation, in particular relating to information exchange.
