Regional workshop on crisis communication and emergency response

On 6 April 2017, the Head of the External Relations and Conference Department, Mr Thomas Liebert, travelled to Curaçao to participate in a conference on public communication during crises, including oil spills, where he gave a presentation on oil spill management, including the handling of claims and ran a short oil spill communication exercise organised by the Government of Curaçao . The conference was attended by 50 delegates representing all six Caribbean islands of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. This trip was also an opportunity for Mr Liebert to meet with an important 1992 Fund contributor operating in Curaçao to discuss reporting and contributions obligations.
