Sixth event in IOPC Funds’ webinar series focuses on key steps to a successful claim
The sixth session in the IOPC Funds’ webinar series, entitled “Key Steps to a Successful Claim” and delivered as part of the Module on “Claims for Compensation”, took place on 15 May 2024.
Claims Administrator, Chrystelle Collier, led a 15-minute presentation on the types of claims that can be submitted following an oil pollution incident and the criteria for their admissibility. She highlighted the claims-handling process and the key principles regarding claims submission, underscoring in particular the importance of good record-keeping and the need for claimants to submit the right documentation.
The event was delivered twice to provide flexibility to participants from different time zones to attend, and Ms Collier presented to an attentive audience that asked a wide a range of questions at the end of each session.
The IOPC Funds’ webinar series has been well-received since its inception and is open to any interested party, with the option for participants attend either the full series or only those webinars of particular interest to them.
