Visit from Satakunta University

On 9 May 2019, the IOPC Funds welcomed students from Satakunta University of Applied Sciences in Finland. Mark Homan, Claims Manager, provided an introduction to the legal framework of the international liability and compensation regime and the role of the IOPC Funds. He also presented on various aspects relating to claims for compensation, including the Funds’ criteria for the admissibility of claims.

The presentation was followed by a tour of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) as well as a further presentation by IMO on its work as a UN specialised agency.
