Ninth event in IOPC Funds’ webinar series focuses on successful recovery of losses in the tourism and fishery industries
On 25 September 2024, the IOPC Funds delivered the ninth event in its webinar series, entitled “Successful Recovery of Losses in the Tourism and Fishery Industries”. The session, led by Claims Manager, Mark Homan, is the last one under the current module on “Claims for Compensation”.
In a 15-minute presentation, Mr Homan outlined the process for recovering losses incurred in the tourism and fishery industries following an oil pollution incident. He emphasised the best practices for claims submission and the need for claimants to comply with the admissibility criteria set by the IOPC Funds, particularly highlighting the need to ensure good record-keeping.
The event was held twice to accommodate participants from different time zones, and the Claims Manager addressed a wide range of questions at the end of each session.
The next module in the IOPC Funds’ webinar series is “The HNS Convention: Why it is needed now”, starting with a session entitled ‘Understanding the Convention’. The date for that webinar, which is expected to take place early in 2025, will be announced in due course.
