Visit of the new Mexican Ambassador to the UK

The Director, José Maura, was delighted to welcome the new Ambassador of Mexico to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the IOPC Funds’ offices on 18 May 2021.  H.E. Ms Josefa González-Blanco recently assumed her duties as Mexico’s representative in London and will be responsible for all IMO and IOPC Funds’ matters going forward.

The Ambassador was accompanied by the 1992 Fund Assembly’s current second-vice Chair, and long serving representative at IOPC Funds’ meetings, Ms Aureny Aguirre O.Sunza, and the Director reaffirmed the organisation’s appreciation for the active role Mexico continues to play in the work of the IOPC Funds year after year.  He also took the opportunity to discuss recent incidents and developments in the international liability and compensation regime and the work of the IOPC Funds in general.
