On 8 April 2024, Singapore submitted to the Secretariat a copy of its national legislation relevant to the IOPC Funds. The legislation is now available via the Member State’s profile under the Membership section of the IOPC Funds’ website.

At the November 2023 sessions of the IOPC Funds governing bodies, 1992 Fund Member States were reminded of circular IOPC/2016/Circ.2, which invited them to submit copies of relevant national legislation to the Secretariat at their earliest convenience, for inclusion in the IOPC Funds’ online country profiles.

Singapore joins 20 other Member States that have complied with the circular to date (IOPC/NOV23/7/2).

The submission of details of national legislation related to the 1992 Civil Liability and Fund Conventions, and, where applicable, the Supplementary Fund Protocol, facilitates communication and cooperation between Member States and the Secretariat on important matters such as oil reporting, contributions, and importantly, in advance of a major oil pollution incident, the general applicability of the Conventions.

Member States that have not yet submitted copies of their relevant national legislation to the Secretariat are encouraged to do so. This can be accomplished by providing a link to the relevant pages of a government website or by submitting a PDF document.
